Adam's Somewhat Daily Blog

Saturday, May 29, 2004 07:49 p.m.

Who knows when the next time I archive my page will be. I'm just too lazy. Yesterday I got out of school early because I didn't have an exam 7th period, so I went to Burt's house and we worked on my car. We put new windshield wipers on it and we added a monogram on the driver's side door. It now says 'Fingas' on my door. And then today I finaly got my Mensa results, which say, although not as well as Stephanie did when she called my a "freakin' genius", that I was in the upper 2% of intelligence. And I need some new people to hang out with. Most of my friends don't hang out at all and when I hang out with the others, it always seems like I am paying. What am I to do?

Thursday, May 13, 2004 08:13 p.m.

I know I haven't been keeping too up to date on this as I should, but the days are just too short. I know this forum is supposed to be theraputic because it lets you put down what you are thinking, but lately...I don't want you all to know what I have been thinking. Too many times it has been that I have let something slip and one of you has picked up on it and done things to it that demons would have to give you credit for thinking up.

Wednesday, May 5, 2004 07:34 p.m.

My Saturday is going to be packed. I am probably going to have to wake up at about 7 or 8, which is unheard of on a weekend, heresy even. Then I am taking a Mensa test at 10 for about 2 hours. At 1 I have to get my penguin suit for activities later on in the day. I am not going to say I got dragged into it, because that would be disrespectful to the party involved, but I was not even considering going to prom until last Thursday, with the last day to buy the tickets the folowing day. A friend of mine, who could not go by herself because she is not a junior or senior, said she had won a dress. So I offered to take her. My ma is making a bigger deal of it than I would have thought possible. That whole thing goes until about 4 in the morning, so as you can see, I am gonig to have a pretty full day. About 20 hours straight of one tiring activity after another. Maybe I should invest in caffeine pills...nah. I'll leave you with this quote, interpret it as you like: "Everybody wants a rock to wind a piece of string around."~John and John of TMBG.

Friday, April 23, 2004 03:13 p.m.

Hello everyone. I just returned from a 3 day and 2 night stay at Camp Kern as a counselor. I jokingly told my ma that we were there to make sure the kids didn't kill each other, and oh so right I turned out to be. I broke up at least 5 fights in the first afternoon there and threw 6 kids off the porch of my cabin. And when I say threw, I mean I picked them up and chucked them off. I had 8 kids in my cabin; a smart ass, a cry baby, a loud mouth, an ok guy(who I deputized), and the other 4 were pretty normal. not all bad even though it rained everyday(and when they say you will be outside rain or shine they mean it with all sincerity). I got to talk to a lot of people that I wouldn't have gotten a chance to talk to in the normal course of a day. Plus anytime you are away from school and thrown out of your normal routine is always good. So until next time, au revoir.

Saturday, April 17, 2004 03:08 p.m.

I saw both Kill Bill 2 and The Punisher yesterday evening. Both were pretty good. The second Kill Bill is much better than the first I think. The first was how many gallons of fake wattery looking blood can we use in an hour and a half long movie. But the second was almost actually trying to be a real movie. The Punisher was good for the simple fact that this one guy completely and utterly destroyed an entire crime family. The amount of destruction this one guy could produce was just amazing. On another front, people that I trust have no ill will in lying to and decieving me. I was only trying to help and I am disrespected for it. Ignorance truly is bliss, but I still wouldn't give up intelligence.

Thursday, April 15, 2004 08:37 p.m.

No, I am not dead. I just haven't had time to write much recently with school back in from spring break. Next Wednesday through Friday, I am going to be in charge of roughly eight(8) small 6th graders at Camp Kearn as their counselor. I remember when I went to Camp Kearn all those five years ago. It was ok but not great. Maybe it will be better on the other side of the equation. And the other struggles go on. Some placed on the back burner, others taken off the stove and almost forgotten completely(man I love talking in metaphor, it is just so deliciously evil).

Monday, April 5, 2004 07:55 p.m.

I saw Hellboy not 1 hour ago. A pretty good movie, but the writer did like H.P.Lovecraft a little too much. There was a lot of stuff about elder gods and every single monster in the movie had tentacles. If that is not ripping off Lovecraft and Cthulu...I don't know what is. On other news, Day 1 of spring break was technically today, and other than the movie was pretty uneventful. Just the way I like the days, long and uneventful.

Tuesday, March 30, 2004 06:04 p.m.

Greetings and salutations my fine feathered friends. Oh how the days fly by. I went to COSI for the first time on Sunday. Two hours of hearing my cousin ask me why wasn't I bored can be tiresome, but when we got there it was pretty cool. The whole idea with the place is 'How can we trick kids into learning? By making everything a game, of course!' I bowled my average(119) yesterday, which doesn't help but it doesn't hurt either.

Thursday, March 18, 2004 09:08 p.m.

There are a few new pages that you can access off of the main page now. There will most likely be a few more in the coming days to fill out that section. Not much else to say other than the fact that Crossgate Lanes is horrible. Bad lighting mixed with a different line system than every other bowling alley I've been to makes for a bad place to play.

Tuesday, March 16, 2004 06:52 p.m.

That, as they say(and who are 'they' anyways?), was the last straw. I am sick and tired of being used as a doormat because my friends know that I will not say no to them if they need it. Well, times have changed. I will no longer be used as a taxi service. And if you want to argue that, screw you. If you haven't guessed already I am very pissed off. Not only did she take advantage of my goodwill onto others attitude many a time, but when I was indisposed of and not able to come at her every beck and call, I apologize and make cookies for her...then she says that I also have to forfeit the eightteen dollars that she owes me. YOU(you know who you are) WILL NEVER RIDE IN MY CAR AGAIN!

Monday, March 15, 2004 08:26 p.m.

Hello everybody. In the bowing league today, i bowled a 135, a 108, and a 160, giving me an average of 134. Compared to my average 0f 109 last week, a large improvement. And, with the handicap I gained last week, my 3 series total was 619, at 207, 180, and 232 respectively(that was a 72 pin handicap a game). For all of you who don't know what any of these weird nukbers are, eh...I don't have time to explain them. Tootles.

Wednesday, March 10, 2004 05:24 p.m.

I had a choir concert last night that I had only heard about the night before. It went pretty well. I had bowling league on Monday. I got a 111-118-99, which give me a 109 average and a 72 pin handicap for next round. My last 2 frames on my last game were horrible that is why it was so low. Our team is in 5th place of 16, so we are doing fairly well.

Saturday, March 6, 2004 07:46 p.m.

The chess tournament was pretty bad today. I ended up with a record of 1.5 to 2.5. But what is worse is that I played Deer Park's, the proverbial gods of chess, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th boards in supposubly random matchings. Bah. The JV did well, they ended up 2nd, but the Varsity was 6th, out of 7. Nobody on the Varsity did better than 2 and 2.

Monday, March 1, 2004 08:40 p.m.

I was used as a personal chauffer today by a friend as we went to go see another friend who was in the hospital. She is fine, so don't worry. I don't know how a trip to a hospital 5 miles away turned into a 2 hour trip. Afterwards I had about 5 minutes at home before I had to head out to choir. Now I am tured from the choreography we are leaning, time to go get a shower.

Sunday, February 29, 2004 06:30 p.m.

Ah, I spent most of my waking hours in or around the exact middle of nowhere. My dad decided that we were going to go to Serpent Mound today. Eighty miles and an hour and a half later, we arrive to find it sorely dissapointing(just between us, my aunt and I think that this one wasn't the original one, we think that it was a recreation, but keep that quiet). A major epiphany was reached last night with the assitance of a good friend, a rant will be up within a day to the extent of it.

Friday, February 27, 2004 05:38 p.m.

I are the champion. I are the champion. I won my game in chess today, playing 3 boards higher than I usually would. The varsity team drew and the jv won, and the jv won the league as well.

Thursday, February 26, 2004 03:19 p.m.

Little to report, save for the fact that the bowling league starts Monday the 8th, not the 1st as I had thought before. That gives me another week of having Mondays to actually do stuff on. That is really it, so scram.

Wednesday, February 25, 2004 05:17 p.m.

Chess practice seemed to go for eternity today(but I think I know why *wink wink*). Our last game of the season is on Friday as you may well already know. As for the top three boards, I give them a 20 to 1 chance of being there. Which means I will most likely be playing 1st board. Which, not to trash myself, means we will probably lose. I am not going to go in there with a pessimest attitude though. We have a chance, be it small. I haven't missed a day of 'making someone happier than they would have been had I not been there' for a week straight now, I'm on a roll. Let's see how long I can keep this up for.

Monday, February 23, 2004 08:55 p.m.

Tired, too much dancing at choir tonight. And the dancing wasn't even for any music, just dancing for the hell of it. Next week bowling starts so i won't get home on Mondays until like 830, which is gonna suck. The last chess match of the season is on Friday against Mariemont. If everyone shows up we should win, but people haven't and because of that they haven't been practicing so we lose. The all day tournament is next Saturday. We should do well simply because we bring so many people to it. Other than that, nothing really, so stop reading this. Hey! You are still reading aren't you?

Saturday, February 21, 2004 01:05 p.m.

The choir concert was horrible. I couldn't hear out of my right ear, everyone kept speeding up, and several people weren't there. There were only two altos. I can hear now because I used some earwax cleaner. Other than that, I just try to chear up one person a day. If I can do that, my work is done.

Thursday, February 19, 2004 07:08 p.m.

What is this?! Adam has had a rash string of days that there has been a blog for!! Yes, and don't be frightened. We (meaning I and others, not people in general) have a choir preformance on Saturday at 12:20 at the high school. This is for the art fair and we are gonna rock. We practiced during common time today and the song the guys sing by themselves sounded very good in the hallway outside the auditorium. The girls are then singing one song by themselves and then we sing four songs as a whole group. I have also found recently that looking back into my old blogs is quite humorous. And except for some minor instances of un-hilarity, it is pretty funny. So write to us at Scruff Mcgruff, Chicago, Illinios, whoa...had a lapse there.

Wednesday, February 18, 2004 08:25 p.m.

Hello, and good evening. I'm walking on sunshine, whoa oh. And don't it feel good ya. Just had to get that out of my system, and now for other news. Yes, as you can plainly deduce, I am quite happy/ecstatic. Put you'lll never find me lucky charms, never!!! HA HA HA HA HA!!! I believe I have straight A's for the midterm, which is a good thing. But no, that is not the main thing. And you'll never get it out of me. NOT FOR ALL THE TEA IN CHINA!!!

Tuesday, February 17, 2004 08:05 p.m.

Bonjour. Or should I say bonsoir due to the time. Today started out pretty bad for Andrew and I were yelled at for being 'MIA' as one person who shall remain nameless put it. My understanding was that we did the movie on last Tuesday and Kt was going to Josh's house on Thursdays to edit it. Done, end of story. So come today and we are being yelled at because other said partys 'busted their butts' doing something for the project...THAT WAS COMPLETELY SUPERFLUOUS!!! So next time don't come crying to me to write a proposal and complain when it turns out dripping with sarcasm. On another note, I came into contact with an old friend by surprise today. Not actually meeting them in person and not from exactly that long ago...but it sounds better the way I said it. They got my screen name from a mutual friend and we talked for some time. I also had a fun time digging out a splinter that was encased in my foot from this morning. Yes, I had to walk around on it all day. And yes, it bled a considerable amount for such a tiny opening.

Thursday, February 12, 2004 06:41 p.m.

Man, these past two weeks have been nothing but running around dropping people off and driving to things that needed to be done. My car failed the e-check test so Ma is going to have to get it fixed. The rest of my group and myself in history are depending on Josh to edit and add some actual content to our video on drugs and alcohol. As far as I know, it is still mostly footage of all of us in George's basement acting like we are hopped up on one thing or another, then there is also footage of me kicking a cabbage patch doll in a field goal like fashion and that same doll being lit on fire and put out with mud. It was fun but it doesn't really convey much in the way of historical stuff, that is where Josh comes in.

Thursday, February 5, 2004 07:08 p.m.

I have finaly archived the main page. This is kind of late in the scheme of things but Abbie's party on Saturday was fun. I have my car as well now. It is a blue '93 Mazda MX-3. It is not in the best of cars but it is my mine so I don't really care. There is a new quiz that is going up in the next few minutes so check it out if you want.
